Job Description

Experience: ~20+ years
Qualification: BE / BTech – Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering - full time

We have an exciting leadership opportunity with one of our reputed clients in the Aerospace & Defence domain. The role demands strong expertise in electro-hydraulic actuator systems, stabilization systems, and flight guiding applications, along with deep experience in mechanical systems engineering.

Role Overview

The incumbent will lead end-to-end mechanical and system design activities, driving projects from conceptualization through production and field deployment, with a strong focus on aerospace and defence applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and development of electro-hydraulic actuation systems, including valves, cylinders, circuits, and linear actuators for high-load applications.
  • Expertise in kinematics linkage design, gears & sprockets, spring design, and high-pressure hydraulics.
  • Act as System Architect / Integrator, owning complete system design, verification, validation, and production handover.
  • Lead NPD/NPI programs, coordinating design, testing, vendor development, manufacturing interfaces, and production ramp-up.
  • Perform and review FEA models, tolerance stack-up analysis to minimize design iterations.
  • Apply quality and reliability tools such as DFMEA, DFSS, RCA, Risk Analysis, Ishikawa/Fishbone, and 8D methodology.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D CAD tools: CATIA V5, CREO, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
  • Selection and application of bearings, bushings, oil seals, piston rings, and related mechanical components.
  • Sound understanding of material standards such as GOST, BS, BOFORS, L&T, and other international standards.
  • Support prototype development, digital and physical verification, and resolution of field issues.
  • Build and lead a strong techno-commercial engineering team, providing technical direction and mentoring.

Mandatory Aerospace & Defence Experience

  • Proven experience in aerospace applications, specifically:
    • Electro-hydraulic actuator systems
    • Stabilization systems
    • Flight guiding / flight control applications
  • Strong system engineering experience in aerospace programs.
  • Hands-on exposure to linear actuators used in aerospace or defence platforms.
  • Experience working on stabilization systems for aerospace or defence applications is mandatory.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • BE / BTech in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • ~20+ years of experience in mechanical structures engineering, hydraulics, casting, and machining.
  • Extensive experience in taking concept designs to production, including field issue resolution.
  • Experience in defining hydraulic cylinder strokes, cylinder sizing, and system-level design.
  • Background in defence engineering, aerospace systems, earth movers, or construction machinery is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management capabilities.
