Testing Engineer
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Test Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, testing, and maintaining HVAC and electrical systems while ensuring compliance with quality standards. The role includes the following key duties and responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot Electrical Systems: Address electrical-related issues by following electrical schematics and system diagrams to identify and resolve problems.
- Troubleshoot HVAC Systems: Identify and resolve issues related to HVAC systems, ensuring they are functioning efficiently and in compliance with required standards.
- On-Time Testing Delivery: Conduct testing as per established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions, ensuring all tests are completed within the given timeframes.
- SOP Development & Maintenance: Create, implement, and maintain SOPs for testing processes, ensuring consistency and compliance across all procedures.
- Test Process Oversight: Oversee the entire testing process to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable products, with a focus on accurate results and product performance.
- Equipment Maintenance & Calibration: Responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and operation of test bed equipment and instruments, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Non-Conformity Reporting: Report any non-conformities or deviations from the required standards, working closely with the quality team to address and resolve issues promptly.
- Implementation of 5S & Kaizen: Implement and uphold 5S practices and Kaizen methodologies in the test bed and plant room to improve operational efficiency, safety, and organization.
- Employee Training & Workplace Safety: Educate and train team members to maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment while adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Customer Complaint & Failure Analysis: Investigate customer complaints, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Internal Failure Reporting: Prepare and analyze Internal Failure Reports, identifying root causes and trends to improve the testing and manufacturing processes.
- Daily Reporting to HOD: Submit daily reports to the Head of Department (HOD) detailing work completed, progress made, and issues encountered, as per the structured format.
- Other Duties: Perform other relevant tasks as required for product design and development.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Education Qualification:
- Graduate Engineer in relevant disciplines (Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics).
- OR
- Diploma Engineer in relevant disciplines (Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics).
- Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Service or Commissioning (preferably in HVAC systems or HVAC manufacturing plants).
- OR
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Service or Commissioning (preferably in HVAC systems or HVAC manufacturing plants) for candidates with a diploma.
Desired & Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
These are additional competencies that will enhance performance in the role:
- Excellent Troubleshooting Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively diagnose and resolve system issues.
- Ability to Perform Under Pressure: Capacity to work efficiently and meet deadlines in high-pressure environments.
- Knowledge of AHRI & NABL Standards: Familiarity with HVAC industry standards such as AHRI (Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute) and NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories).
- HVAC System Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning principles and components.
- Electrical & Electronics Knowledge: Proficiency in electrical systems and electronics, including troubleshooting and fault diagnosis
